👋 Hi, my name is Kevin Ross — founder of In-Home Entrepreneur. This site is the resource hub that would have saved me years of frustration back in 2008.
I’ve been in the digital business space since 2008, building websites, testing ideas, failing, rebuilding, and figuring it out one lesson at a time. Through it all — no mentor, no roadmap, no support group, no one in my corner — and I’m still at it.
My Story
It started in Enid, Oklahoma, with a computer I bought at a pawn shop because I wanted to learn how it worked. Somewhere along the way, I ordered an SMC packet, and started selling home goods door-to-door — that was my first taste of running my own business. Then one of SMC’s paper newsletters mentioned a program to help members set up a website. That one line changed the direction of my life.
I wasn’t just curious back then. I was looking for a way to make money on my own terms and not depend on a job market that was never easy for people of color to break through. The people teaching digital business and marketing back then — Mike Dillard, Howie Schwartz, Wealthy Affiliate, ClickBank, CopyBlogger, HubSpot (and others) — were all white. There weren’t many Black voices in those spaces. So I learned what I could from them and figured out the rest on my own — I was one of the first Black voices in those spaces.
So I started building websites with Weebly. GoDaddy. NameCheap — a few others. I joined the Wealthy Affiliate program, ClickBank, Global Domain International (GDI), Ideal Health — to name a few. Every online business opportunity I could get into — I did. I built and rebuilt sites — HomeBasedBusinessSeeker.com, InternetAmateurHubMedia.com, TheHub.com, 2StartABizOnline.com, KevinRoss.com — for nearly two decades. And then everything I’d learned along the way came together in one place: In-Home Entrepreneur.com.
